Two live oaks
The two live oaks out side the Radley place are reffered to quite alot throughout the novel. Jem and Scout find many things inside the hole of one of the oaks, such as chewing gum, little vodoo dolls of themselves, two pennies, a spelling bee medal and a watch etc.
They are also told to stand infront of the two oaks when Ms. Maudie's house was on fire.
Both scenarios involve Boo Radley, as he is the one putting the items in the tree hole for them to find, and he also places a blanket over Scout during the fire, without her knowing.
This tells us that Boo Radley is a caring character and wants to get to know Scout and Jem and become friends.
